Job summary

Oxy is seeking a Maintenance Planner to drive SAP-based maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution for oil & gas operations in Midland, Texas. This role collaborates with field operations, project teams, and cross-functional groups to ensure work is properly scoped and prioritized.

You will validate data, coordinate with Finance and Supply Chain, and monitor KPIs to drive continuous improvement. The position requires strong analytical skills and proactive problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Finance, Accounting, Math).
• Experience with SAP or similar enterprise systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of maintenance planning and oil & gas operations is an asset.

The Maintenance Planner plays a critical role in enabling efficient and effective execution of maintenance work. This position works directly with the business to review SAP notifications, develop detailed work plans, and drive the scheduling and completion of maintenance activities within SAP.

The Planner partners closely with field operations, project managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure work is properly scoped, prioritized, and executed. This role also interfaces with Finance, Accounts Payable, Supply Chain, and external vendors to support end-to-end work management and financial accuracy.

This is a dynamic and rewarding role that requires strong analytical capability, effective communication, technical proficiency, and a proactive problem-solving mindset. Experience with SAP and familiarity with oil and gas operations is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Work Planning & Execution

• Review, validate, and prioritize SAP notifications and work requests
• Develop detailed job plans, including labor, materials, and sequencing of activities
• Coordinate and support scheduling and execution of planned work

Stakeholder Coordination

• Partner with field operations, engineers, and project teams to align on priorities and execution plans
• Interface with Finance, Accounts Payable, Supply Chain, and vendors to ensure smooth workflow and issue resolution

Data Quality & Validation

• Review and validate field-submitted data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper SAP entry
• Drive consistency in data standards and work management practices

Meeting Leadership

• Lead and facilitate planning and scheduling meetings with field operations teams
• Communicate priorities, risks, and constraints to stakeholders

Performance Monitoring

• Utilize KPIs and reporting tools to track performance, identify gaps, and drive continuous improvement
• Communicate insights and performance trends to relevant stakeholders
