Responsibilities

  • Produce progress reports and forecasts for team members, clients and stakeholders.
  • Break large jobs into phases of development.
  • Collaborate with estimators to plan resources for projects.
  • Meet with contractors and suppliers.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing repair.
  • Write scopes of work for bids.
  • Support of Craft Supervisors.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Job Description Summary / TWC Summary

The maintenance planner is responsible for ensuring that maintenance activities both repetitive and proactive are planned, scheduled, and tracked in an efficient and effective manner. Possess capability to identify, locate and source required materials/equipment required for repair. Anticipate potential problems before they arise (defect prevention and avoidable delays) and create a plan of action to address them. Reports to Facilities Director of Maintenance.

Essential Duties Summary

Education

Undergraduate degree or Associate’s degree in a closely related subject like information management, facility management, or engineering, relevant work experience.

Required Licensing/Certification

Recognized Certified Maintenance Planner Course (with equivalent experience)

Valid Texas Driver’s License preferred.

  • Best practices in planning and scheduling systems in adherence to university standards for maintenance of buildings and equipment.

  • Demonstrates full/complete subject matter knowledge in area of responsibility. Requires command of technical and functional procedures, and lead and/or review the work of others in multiple job classifications performing diverse responsibilities.
  • Microsoft Office Professional, TMA (Work Request system) or similar applications.

Work Experience

  • Strong computer skills with experience in Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Stoop, bend or lift.
