Job summary

Texas Southern University is seeking an Educational Planner to lead outreach and recruitment efforts across local high schools and colleges. You will guide prospective students through the application process, generate inquiries, and coordinate campus visits to drive enrollment.

The role requires 1–3 years of experience, a bachelor’s degree, and strong communication skills. Evening/weekend flexibility and travel may be required. This is a 1.0 FTE position with standard daytime hours.

Qualifications

Job Description Summary / TWC Summary

Under general supervision provides outreach and recruitment activities at local high schools and colleges within the United States with the intent to assist students in completing the application process to Texas Southern University. The incumbent will generate inquiries, applications, interviews, campus visits, and enroll prospective students through high-impact engagement activities such as calling, texting, and recruiting prospective students within the assigned market area(s). Oversees prospective students and applicants to ensure they are aware of the educational programs and processes at TSU. Handles follow-ups on the completion of slate info cards, applications, test scores, transcripts, evaluations, registration, and payments.

Essential Duties Summary
  • Establishes relationships to outreach sites to build rapport with location representatives.
  • Develops and creates presentations to various groups to solicit student informational cards via CRM.
  • Provides university information to prospective students.
  • Makes appropriate referrals to colleges and schools.
  • Conducts follow-up with prospective students.
  • Examines test scores, transcripts, and documents for evaluation.
  • Completes transcript evaluations as needed.
  • Conducts campus tours and information sessions on and off-campus.
  • Collects and analyzes outreach data; prepares daily and weekly status reports of all activities and maintains records and statistical information.
  • Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.

Work Experience

  • Ability to maintain the security or integrity of critical infrastructure, which may include communications systems, computer networks and systems, cybersecurity systems, electrical grid, hazardous waste treatment or water treatment system.

  • Limited standing and/or walking.
  • Handling light weight objects.
  • Using or carrying equipment.
  • Stoop, bend or lift.
  • May require routine and overnight travel.
