Job summary

Mentor Technical Group is seeking a Maintenance Planner to schedule resources and materials for preventive and corrective maintenance within a pharmaceutical/biotech setting in Boston. You will coordinate with manufacturing operations to align work with production forecasts and regulatory requirements.

The role requires 3–5 years in maintenance planning, strong CMMS knowledge (MAXIMO preferred), and excellent communication and technical writing skills.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in maintenance planning.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device/healthcare industries with cGMPs.
  • Strong knowledge of CMMS systems and MAXIMO preferred.
  • Understanding of OSHA safety practices.
  • Excellent written and oral communication; technical writing ability.
  • Knowledge of the purchase order system and requisition procedures.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Maintenance Planner will plan and schedule available resources and materials for maintenance activities associated with preventative and corrective maintenance in the most effective and efficient way.
  • Develop the detail work scope and setup forecasts for resource allocation to ensure preventative and corrective work activities are completed in conjunction with manufacturing operations activities.
  • Is responsible for overseeing work order activity compliance with regulatory requirements (i.e. FDA, DEA, OSHA).
  • Improve workforce productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labor, parts, and material, tools, and equipment required permits, specialized documentation and equipment access.
  • Compiles and maintains the master PM schedule to establish a sequence and lead time of each operation to meet scheduling dates according to production forecast or machine-specific needs.
  • Accurate coordination between the various maintenance groups and facility supervisors/managers.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree or equivalent from 2-year college technical school preferred. In lieu of degree, Technical College diploma with 10+ years of experience required or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in maintenance planning.
  • Previous experience working within the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Medical Device, Food and Beverage, and Healthcare Industries with a thorough working knowledge of cGMPs.
  • Strong knowledge of CMMS systems and related systems/software; MAXIMO is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of work management processes, labor estimating, resource balancing, etc.
  • Good working knowledge of facilities equipment and O&M requirements.
  • Strong understanding of proper OSHA safety practices and procedures.
  • Good organization skills.
  • Technical writing ability.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Knowledge of the purchase order system and requisition procedures.
  • Must be flexible and responsive to the needs of the business.
