Responsibilities

• Develop detailed maintenance work plans and labor estimates.
• Identify required parts, tools, permits, contractors and services.
• Create/maintain quality work orders in the work order system.
• Coordinate purchasing, vendors, warehouse and contractors.
• Track long-lead materials and resolve delays before scheduling.
• Ensure jobs are ready to execute before scheduling.
• Improve PM plans using experience and lessons learned.
• Capture actual labor/materials and update plans after completion.
• Coordinate bids to control costs for RBF.
• Assist and lead inventory organization and storage solutions on site and off site.

Our client has been operating for over 15 years and steadily growing. They are a leading provider and distributor of biofuels, and they have a fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler.

Job Description

Primary purpose: Prepare maintenance work, capital project execution, and turnaround planning so jobs can be executed efficiently, with the right scope, materials, tools, contractors, and information

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed job plans and labor estimate
• Identify required parts, tools, permits, contractors, and services
• Create/maintain quality work orders in the work order system
• Coordinate purchasing, vendors, warehouse, and contractors
• Track long-lead materials and resolve delays before they impact the schedule
• Ensure jobs are 100% ready to execute before scheduling
• Improve PM job plans based on maintenance experience and lessons learned
• Capture actual labor/materials and update job plans after completion
• Coordinate multiple bids for all work to ensure effective cost control for RBF
• Assist and lead efforts to organize inventory, set up a system to track inventory changes, and coordinate best storage solutions, both on site & off site as needed

Qualities

• Highly organized and able to manage many jobs simultaneously
• Strong maintenance/industrial background, preferably someone who has worked as a maintenance technician or maintenance supervisor
• Proactive and persistent - anticipates problems rather than waiting for them
• Detail-oriented enough to catch incorrect parts, missing materials, permits, etc.
• Good communicator with maintenance, operations, engineering, purchasing, and vendors
• Comfortable pushing people to meet deadlines without creating unnecessary conflict
• Understands priorities and can distinguish critical work from routine work
• Computer/CMMS competent and capable of keeping accurate records

Experience

Ideally looking for 3-8 years of Planning/Scheduling/Expediting experience gained in the energy or industrial manufacturing sectors. Ideal candidate will have experience from Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, Chemical Manufacturing or similar industries.
