Job summary

Lakeside Book Company in Crawfordsville, IN seeks a maintenance planner to manage and schedule work orders, estimate labor, materials, and tools, and ensure readiness of parts and documents.

You will coordinate with supervisors and vendors, monitor backlogs, and improve maintenance processes while upholding safety standards and 5S principles.

Qualifications

• Experience with CMMS systems (MVP-One preferred) and basic computer skills.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, including ability to read schematics and drawings.
• At least 2 years of maintenance planning experience in industrial/manufacturing settings.
• Knowledge of maintenance methods, tools, equipment, and preventive maintenance practices.
• Strong decision-making, attention to detail, and organizational abilities (5S mindset).
• Experience working with vendors and managing projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages and prioritizes maintenance work using CMMS, ensuring requests are accurate and clearly defined.
• Plans jobs by estimating labor, materials, tools, and skills needed for routine and complex projects.
• Prepares resources and ensures readiness before scheduling, including documents, parts, and tools.
• Balances workloads with available labor and coordinates with supervisors, operations, and vendors to minimize downtime.
• Oversees work order backlog, scheduling, inventory usage, and procurement to control costs and efficiency.
• Analyzes trends, improves maintenance processes, and maintains CMMS data integrity and reporting.

Work Hours: Day shift, 40 hour workweeks (Overtime as needed)

Location: We have 2 locations in Crawfordsville, IN: North Plant at 1009 Sloan Street; South Plant at 600 State Road 32 West. This job is for the South Plant.

What You'll Do

• Manages and prioritizes maintenance work using CMMS, ensuring requests are accurate, valid, and clearly defined
• Plans jobs by estimating labor, materials, tools, and skills needed, including routine maintenance and complex projects
• Prepares and organizes all required resources (documents, parts, tools) and ensures readiness before scheduling
• Balances workloads with available labor and coordinates with supervisors, operations, and vendors to minimize downtime
• Oversees work order backlog, scheduling, inventory usage, and procurement to control costs and maintain efficiency
• Improves maintenance processes by analyzing trends, developing procedures, maintaining CMMS data integrity, and reporting insights

• Other duties as assigned

What You Bring
