Job summary

Lakeside Book Company in Crawfordsville, IN is seeking a Maintenance Planner for the South Plant to organize and prioritize maintenance work, coordinate with operations, supervisors, and vendors to minimize downtime, and ensure safe, reliable production.

You will plan jobs by estimating labor, materials, tools, and skills, prepare resources, manage CMMS data, and monitor work order backlog to control costs and improve maintenance processes.

Qualifications

• Experience with CMMS systems (prefer MVP-One).
• Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude; read schematics.
• Minimum 2 years of maintenance planning in industrial settings.
• Knowledge of maintenance methods, tools and PM practices.
• Strong decision-making, attention to detail and organization (5S).
• Experience with vendors and project coordination preferred.
• Flexible schedule; commitment to safety; education or equivalent.

• Improves maintenance processes by analyzing trends, maintaining CMMS data integrity, reporting insights.
• Other duties as assigned.

Work Hours:

Day shift, 40 hour workweeks (Overtime as needed)

Location:

We have 2 locations in Crawfordsville, IN: North Plant at 1009 Sloan Street ; South Plant at 600 State Road 32 West. This job is for the South Plant.

What You’ll Do

• Manages and prioritizes maintenance work using CMMS, ensuring requests are accurate, valid, and clearly defined
• Plans jobs by estimating labor, materials, tools, and skills needed, including routine maintenance and complex projects
• Prepares and organizes all required resources (documents, parts, tools) and ensures readiness before scheduling
• Balances workloads with available labor and coordinates with supervisors, operations, and vendors to minimize downtime
• Oversees work order backlog, scheduling, inventory usage, and procurement to control costs and maintain efficiency
• Improves maintenance processes by analyzing trends, developing procedures, maintaining CMMS data integrity, and reporting insights

• Other duties as assigned

What You Bring

• Experience with CMMS systems (MVP-One preferred) and basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, including ability to read schematics and drawings
• At least 2 years of maintenance planning experience in industrial or manufacturing environments
• Knowledge of maintenance methods, tools, equipment, and preventive maintenance practices
• Strong decision-making skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities (5S mindset)
• Experience working with vendors and managing projects or programs (preferred)
• Flexible schedule, commitment to safety standards, and relevant education or equivalent experience
