Job 168492 - Maintenance Person

Under general supervision, the Facilities Maintenance person will administer restaurant maintenance to ensure safe work operations and compliance with internal company standards and environmental regulations; and perform related work as assigned.
Examples of Essential Functions:
- Inspects facilities for environmental safety and maintenance issues; investigates, analyzes, and remedies safety or environmental problems
- Coordinates facilities related projects with GM discretion with outside contractors, vendors, and affected staff
- Performs routine window washing
- Can operate powerwasher to clean restaurant grounds
- Able to perform basic electrical work
- Conducts tent set up and break down for large restaurant events
- Able to tile and grout various areas of the restaurant, as needed
- Performs general and routine equpiment repair, as needed
- Able to sand and paint restaurant areas, upon request
- Capable of simple woodworking projects
- Performs miscellanous handy-person tasks, as needed
- Grants access and oversees outside contractors for gardening and custodial services
- Conducts monthly Joint Safety Committee meeting; records minutes of executive safety committee meetings and generates related reports; works with plant and engineering personnel to solve safety problems; designs modifications to safety equipment; maintains Material Safety Data Sheet inventory and administers safety glasses program
- Coordinates quarterly waste water sampling with outside vendors; identify new vendors for other miscellaneous projects
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance
- Must have own transportation, as making trips to the local hardware store is a job requirement
- Strong knowledge of building codes, HVAC, electrical power
- Ability to assess maintenance issues and conduct repairs as appropriate (strong handyman skills highly desirable)
- Knowledge of landscaping, watering systems and external lighting
- Knowledge of hazardous materials management, safety and disposal regulations
- Must exhibit an attention to detail and follow through
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be responsive to management and property needs
- Ability to adapt to varying work environments and to deal with frequent changes and unexpected events
- Ability to interface and communicate effectively with all levels of employees
