Job description

Holy Family Parish in Sparta is seeking to fill a part-time maintenance position which includes cleaning, lawn mowing and snow removal. The maintenance person is responsible for the set up and tear down of the parish hall and classrooms. The hours of this position are set at 15 hours per week.

Qualifications:

• Good communication, customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Experience and/or training in heating and cooling equipment.
• Basic knowledge of housekeeping equipment, standards and practices.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Must be able to work without direct supervision yet be able to accept supervision and perform the supervisor’s instructions.
• Skill and manual dexterity to effectively and safely operate manual and electrical tools and equipment.
• Ability to perform physical exertion, e.g., moderately heavy lifting, climbing, furniture moving, lifting and carrying supplies, and working on a 12-ft ladder.
• Ability to work with moderate risks or discomforts including working in cold and hot and/or humid temperatures without air conditioning.
