Job summary

FedEx is seeking a supervisor for maintenance technicians responsible for corrective, predictive, and preventive maintenance of material handling equipment, controls, and scanning systems. You will establish performance expectations, coach staff, manage budgets, and drive improvements.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with an associate degree preferred, plus 2+ years industrial maintenance and relevant people-management experience. Proficiency in CMMS and PLCs is beneficial.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
• Two years industrial maintenance experience; plus six (or four with degree) years related.
• Experience leading project teams or supervising lower-level employees.
• Knowledge of mechanical power transmission and/or electrical power or machine controls.
• Ability to develop and implement Quality (QDM) driven equipment/process improvements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for management levels.
• Presentation skills to deliver trainings or informational sessions.
• Ability to diagnose problems and develop effective, efficient solutions.
• Ability to motivate a team and lead diverse groups.
• Ability to interpret electrical/mechanical schematics; PLC/controls knowledge.
• Understanding of SWAK barcode reader control system and label scanners.
• Knowledge of safety codes and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Supervises maintenance technicians; coaches, develops skills, and manages performance.
• Plans, organizes, staffs, directs and controls day-to-day department operations.
• Ensures compliance and addresses variances and budget concerns.
• Sets quality and safety expectations aligned with FedEx standards.
• Oversees preventive maintenance; ensures timely completion of PM program.
• Manages CMMS tasks and work orders.
• Provides technical expertise on sortation electrical/mechanical systems.
• Completes quality audits and communicates results.
• Identifies improvements to material handling to optimize operations.
• Obtains bids, manages vendors including maintenance and upgrades.
