Job summary

Hyundai Transys Georgia Powertrain (HTGP) is seeking a Maintenance Mechanical Specialist to lead maintenance efforts at our West Point, GA site. You will ensure preventative and predictive maintenance, analyze processes, and drive improvements while upholding safety and ISO standards.

You will act as a technical expert in the maintenance area, mentor team members, and coordinate with suppliers to install or improve equipment. This role requires hands-on problem solving and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

Position Summary:

Ensures preventative and predictive maintenance systems effectively make HTGP equipment run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the equipment and building does not deteriorate. Analyze and improve current production processes and equipment.

Essential Functions:
  • Adheres to the Hyundai Transys Georgia Powertrain policies and procedures

  • Complies with all HTGP Certification Standards; Management System ( IATF16949), Environmental ISO 14001 and Health and Safety ISO 45001 policies and procedures

Technical:
  • Serve as technical expert of maintenance area.
  • Maintain equipment and facility drawings, updating as required.
  • Coordinates and leads project activities assigned by management
  • Understanding and can analyze equipment data and countermeasure as needed
  • Support as needed in countermeasures for internal, Customer and Market quality problems
  • Fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; review with equipment vendors as needed
  • Create and implement countermeasures for equipment based on downtime data
  • Training Team Members in Maintenance role based on knowledge and weak point area
  • Working with equipment suppliers & contractors to install or improve equipment or processes
  • Support and Implement capital projects as per yearly schedule
  • Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing KPI department goals
  • Must be hands on when problem solving and supporting equipment issues
  • Prepares reports and presentations as required, improvements, corrective actions and quality issues etc.
  • Understand and applies correct LOTO procedures and leads others in same
  • Support weekend / shutdown PM schedules for all HTGP equipment as required
  • Ensures PM Work Orders are completed on time
  • Documents, evaluates and improves maintenance objectives
  • Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting based on equipment breakdown.
Leadership:
  • Documents all activities in a timely manner
  • Ensures Team Members perform to company policies and procedures
  • Builds and maintains good working relationships with Team Members and Management
  • Directs multiple Team Members and their respective zones
  • Measures team efficiency (downtime rate, MTBF, MTTR, etc…) and assure that key performance metrics are met or exceeded
  • Helps all direct reports with motivating, mentoring, personal and professional growth and goal setting
  • Maintains flow of operations by directing the work of employees, and communicating production status, requirements, and problems to related departments
  • Directs and oversees outside contractors performing maintenance, installation, or equipment modifications
Education
  • High School/GED
  • 4 Year Degree or comparable background of work related experience in human resources related discipline preferred

  • Reports to: Maintenance Assistant Manager or designee

Position Requirements and Qualifications:
  • 0-3 years job related experience
