As a Maintenance Mechanic, you’ll service tugs, barges, cranes, forklifts, rigging gear, and more, with emphasis on safety and quality. Must have own tools and valid driver’s license; 2+ years shipyard experience preferred; overtime may

• Own tools and maintain them.
• Overhaul pumps, engines, valves, and dial-in pump motors.
• Overhaul gearboxes on valve actuators and capstans.
• Valid driver’s license.
• 2+ years in a shipyard environment (preferred).
• Strong communication skills.
• Flexible schedule to include overtime and weekends.
• HS diploma or equivalent preferred.

Gulf Marine Repair in Tampa, FL is seeking to hire a Maintenance Mechanic to perform maintenance and repairs on floating equipment., lifting equipment, over-the-road equipment, and miscellaneous shipyard equipment. As a maintenance mechanic, you will be required to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components. This is a 1st shift position.

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you perform routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance on shipyard equipment including tugs, barges, cranes, forklifts, rigging equipment, chain falls, pickup trucks, mobile cranes, automobiles, portable pumps, generators, cable reels, and power units, ventilator blowers, and lighting equipment. You comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area.

You also operate cranes, forklifts, air compressors, and trucks for repair purposes.

You operate under strict quality, safety, environmental, and health regulations and policies. You enjoy working in a shipyard environment and find great satisfaction in your work.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have own tools
• Must be able to overhaul pumps, engines and valves, and dial-in pump motors
• Must be able to overhaul gearboxes on valve actuators and capstans

• 2+ years of experience in a shipyard environment (preferred)
