Job summary

Griswold Products in Moosup, Connecticut is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to support rubber manufacturing operations. You will troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild production machinery, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure safe, efficient operation.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical skills, experience with hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and the ability to work independently in a manufacturing setting. Excellent problem-solving and teamwork are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least three years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and rebuild industrial machinery.
• Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems; basic electrical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and rebuild production machinery (rubber processing equipment).
• Diagnose mechanical problems involving bearings, gears, shafts, belts, chains, couplings, and drive systems.
• Disassemble, inspect, repair, replace, and reassemble mechanical components as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance, lubrication, inspections, and equipment adjustments to reduce downtime.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems and perform basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
• Assist with equipment installation, alignment, startup, modifications, and upgrades.
