Job summary

Mission Produce® in Swedesboro, NJ seeks a skilled maintenance technician to support general production equipment maintenance, preventive maintenance, equipment installation, and fabrication to keep operations productive and safe.

Responsibilities include mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic troubleshooting, welding and fabricating metal parts from blueprints, and conducting safety inspections. Ability to read plans and work in a fast-paced environment is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
• Technical trade school training of 2 years preferred.
• Demonstrate the ability to maintain and repair plant equipment, systems, machines, and tools.
• Experience with multiple types of hand and power tools, welding, and fabrication.
• Strong mechanical background for new installations and retrofits, repairs, and upgrades of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanic skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment/machines.
• General maintenance functions following blueprints, layouts, circuits, and written/verbal instructions.
• Install new equipment and rearrange existing setups.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all production equipment.
• Weld and fabricate metal parts, frames, stands, and brackets from blueprints and diagrams.
• Solder copper airlines with propane torches.
• Repair and test production equipment with urgency.
• Handle requisitioning of tools, parts, and supplies; collect parts as needed.
• Conduct safety inspections on equipment and electrical systems and report hazards.
