Marmon Utility LLC in Seymour, CT is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support day-to-day machinery repairs and preventive maintenance, including monitoring water systems. The role is onsite, with Mon-Fri shifts and training sessions to start.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years of hands-on mechanical experience, blueprint reading skills, and strong safety discipline. The team emphasizes lean improvements and reliable maintenance records.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years hands-on mechanical experience.
• High School Education.
• Ability to read mechanical blueprints identify parts and research part numbers.
• Knowledge of large HP mechanical drive systems including gear box reducers, belt and pulley, and chain and sprocket.
• Excellent mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of pumps, valves and piping.
• Ability to work independently and with others; safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair equipment.
• Complete preventive maintenance on machines and equipment.
• Make repairs to various piping systems including black iron, stainless steel, brass, and plastic.
• Respond to building and equipment emergencies/outages and perform quality checks.
• Document and maintain maintenance records. By properly documenting the issues in the maintenance system.
• Take an active role in all lean initiatives as it relates to maintenance.
• Keep tools and equipment in good condition.
• Know the occupational hazards and safety precautions.
