Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to independently perform routine and preventative maintenance in various trade areas within the maintenance department. This role also involves maintaining hospital buildings and ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Eighth grade.
• Experience: Three years in maintenance trades, with at least two years primarily in electricity, plumbing, steam fitting, refrigeration, or air-conditioning. Experience may be substituted as follows:

1. Additional experience in maintenance trades can substitute for education on a year-for-year basis, up to three years.
2. A degree from an accredited vocational or technical high school in Building Maintenance or a related field can substitute for the required experience.
3. Military service as a non-commissioned officer in utilities repair or construction/engineering can substitute on a year-for-year basis.

Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications

Employees may be required to operate a motor vehicle and must possess a valid Maryland driver’s license if so assigned.
