Job summary

Leggett & Platt Flooring division in Statesville, NC is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support design implementations and build parts to improve carpet cushion production. You will work under the Maintenance Supervisor to assist on projects and perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in industrial/manufacturing settings, can read blueprints and schematics, and are comfortable using hand and power tools.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of industrial/manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics clearly.
• Basic math, reading and writing skills.
• Willingness to work Saturdays as required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble machinery, fabricated metal parts and electrical equipment as directed.
• Read blueprints/schematics and build to specifications.
• Operate and maintain various hand and power tools.
• Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
• Periodically inspect products for quality and consistency; report issues.
• Carry out other related duties as assigned.

Job description

The Leggett & Platt Flooring division, located in Statesville, NC is searching for Maintenance Mechanic. The Maintenance Mechanic will help successfully implement designs and build parts/machines to improve current processes in the production of carpet cushion, as well as perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment.

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will take direction from the Maintenance Supervisor to assist in completing projects that will improve current processes in the manufacturing of carpet cushion. The work schedule is Monday thruFriday, 6:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., with some required Saturday’s.

So, what will you be doing as a Maintenance Mechanic?

• Assemble machinery, fabricated metal products, electrical equipment, and more according to directions
• Read blueprints, schematics, or similar documentation, then build to those specifications
• Use various machines and hand tools and power tools to accomplish assigned tasks
• Maintain equipment and perform basic repairs when needed
• Periodically check products to ensure quality and uniform completion; resolve any identified problems and alert supervisor
• Performs other related duties as assigned

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have the following:

• Have at least 2 years Industrial/Manufacturing experience
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics
• Basic ability in mathematics, reading, or writing
• Ability to work independently or as a team to complete tasks
• Ability to maintain a safe work environment
• Ability to use various hand tools
• Available to work on some Saturday’s
