Job summary

The Platt Brothers & Company in Waterbury, CT is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support the Eyelet Manufacturing division. The role focuses on maintaining production equipment, diagnosing repairs, and assisting in startups of new or modified machinery.

Ideal candidates have machining and welding skills, experience with presses like Waterbury Farrel, Baird, or Platarg, and the ability to fabricate parts and work with toolmakers.

Qualifications

• Machining experience required.
• Experience maintaining Waterbury Farrel, Baird and Platarg presses.
• Ability to fabricate parts with lathes, milling machines and surface grinder.
• Welding ability is required.
• Ability to work with Toolmakers to resolve repair issues.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lay out, install, repair and maintain production equipment and power services.
• Tear down, disassemble and diagnose repair requirements for mechanical equipment; perform pneumatic/hydraulic connections.
• Assist in startup of new, changed, or repaired equipment.
• Perform general building and auxiliary equipment repairs; maintain maintenance logs.
