The Platt Brothers & Company in Waterbury is seeking an Experienced Eyelet Toolmaker to design and develop new tooling for deep draw transfer presses and to maintain existing tooling. You will collaborate with engineering on new jobs and drive improvements across existing projects.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in deep draw eyelet tooling and are comfortable mentoring apprentices, with strong hands-on experience in toolroom equipment and precision measurement.

Qualifications

• Deep draw eyelet toolmaking experience with at least 10 years.
• Proficiency with Waterbury Farrel, Baird, Platarg presses.
• Knowledge of heat-treating tool steels and measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Build and develop new deep draw transfer press tooling with minimal supervision.
• Maintain and improve existing transfer press tools.
• Mentor, teach, and train less skilled toolmakers.

Experienced Eyelet Toolmaker Job description: The Platt Brothers & Company, a family owned business since 1797 is a major source for zinc, zinc alloy and other non-ferrous products along with intricate custom eyelet and deep drawn stamping capabilities. We are currently seeking an Experienced Eyelet Toolmaker who is capable of making and developing new tooling as well as maintaining existing jobs on all sizes of Waterbury Farrel, Baird and Platarg Presses.

Core Responsibilities

• Build and develop, with limited supervision, new deep draw transfer press tooling.
• Maintain, and in some cases, improve existing transfer press tools.
• Mentor, teach, and train less skilled and apprentice toolmakers.
• Work directly with engineering on new jobs and improving existing jobs.

Qualifications

• Good working knowledge and experience using all tool room equipment.
• General knowledge of heat-treating tool steels.
• General knowledge of measuring instruments and precision optical measuring equipment.
• Extensive troubleshooting and development skills.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Deep Draw Eyelet Toolmaker.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• State certified apprenticeship or equivalent.
