The Platt Brothers & Company is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support our Eyelet Manufacturing division in Waterbury, CT. The role focuses on maintaining and repairing a wide array of production equipment, with emphasis on machining and press-related systems.

Ideal candidates will have machining experience, proven ability to fabricate parts on lathes/milling machines/surface grinders, and welding skills.

Qualifications

• Machining experience.
• Experience maintaining Waterbury Farrel, Baird and Platarg Presses.
• Ability to fabricate parts using lathes, milling machines, and surface grinder.
• Ability to weld.
• Ability to work with Toolmakers to resolve repair issues.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lay out, install, repair and maintain a wide range of production equipment, auxiliary mechanisms and power services.
• Tear down, disassemble and diagnose repair requirements for mechanical equipment
• Perform necessary pneumatic and hydraulic connections.
• Assist in the startup of new, changed, or repaired production equipment.
• Perform general building and auxiliary equipment repairs such as air, gas, water and other facilities
• Maintain maintenance logs
