The Platt Brothers & Company in Waterbury, CT is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support the Eyelet Manufacturing division. The role focuses on maintaining production equipment, diagnosing repairs, and assisting in startups of new or modified machinery.

Ideal candidates have machining and welding skills, experience with presses like Waterbury Farrel, Baird, or Platarg, and the ability to fabricate parts and work with toolmakers.

Qualifications

• Machining experience required.
• Experience maintaining Waterbury Farrel, Baird and Platarg presses.
• Ability to fabricate parts with lathes, milling machines and surface grinder.
• Welding ability is required.
• Ability to work with Toolmakers to resolve repair issues.

Responsibilities

The Platt Brothers & Company, a family owned business since 1797 is a major source for zinc, zinc alloy and other non-ferrous products along with intricate custom eyelet and deep drawn stamping capabilities. We are currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to work in our Eyelet Manufacturing division.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lay out, install, repair and maintain a wide range of production equipment, auxiliary mechanisms and power services.
• Tear down, disassemble and diagnose repair requirements for mechanical equipment Perform necessary pneumatic and hydraulic connections.
• Assist in the startup of new, changed, or repaired production equipment.
• Perform general building and auxiliary equipment repairs such as air, gas, water and other facilities Maintain maintenance logs

Qualifications

• Machining experience
• Experience maintaining Waterbury Farrel, Baird and Platarg Presses
• Ability to fabricate parts using lathes, milling machines, and surface grinder
• Ability to weld
• Ability to work with Toolmakers to resolve repair issues
