Job summary

Thunderbird Molding is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and prevent breakdowns on metal production equipment. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, ability to read mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints, and commitment to safety and reliability.

You will support uptime with preventive maintenance and data-driven improvements. Strong troubleshooting, welding and cutting skills, and experience with pumps, gear boxes and blowers

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance mechanic or similar role.
• Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, plumbing and code books.
• Basic mechanical, welding and cutting skills.
• Should be capable of reading mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints.
• Good problem-solving skills, safety practices and attention to quality.
• Have basic workbench and computer skills.
• Basic knowledge of relay logic, AC/DC motor drives, PLC & SLC and motor control circuits.
• Intermediate knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, plumbing, and code books.
• Repair knowledge of pumps, compressors, gear boxes and blowers.

Responsibilities

• Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.
• Determines changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
• Maintains inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.
• Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
• Provides data for maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Maintenance Mechanic Essential Functions

Maintenance Mechanic Physical Demands and Work Environment

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• Frequently required lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds.
• Frequently required standing, bending, squatting, and reaching with hands and arms.
• Regularly required to stand for extended periods, walk, talk, and hear.
• Ability to use hand tools.
• Ability to read applicable instructions.
