Job summary

Thunderbird Molding is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to diagnose, repair and preventively maintain metal production equipment. The role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and the ability to read prints and schematics.

This is a 2nd shift position starting at 3pm and ending at 1:30am, typically 5–6 days per week. You will work in a safety‑driven environment, focusing on reliability, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance mechanic or similar role.
• Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, plumbing and code books.
• Basic mechanical, welding and cutting skills.
• Should be capable of reading mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints.
• Good problem-solving skills, safety practices and attention to quality.
• Have basic workbench and computer skills.
• Basic knowledge of relay logic, AC/DC motor drives, PLC & SLC and motor control circuits.
• Intermediate knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, plumbing, and code books.
• Repair knowledge of pumps, compressors, gear boxes and blowers.

Responsibilities

• Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
• Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.
• Determines changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
• Maintains inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.
• Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
• Provides data for maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Maintenance Mechanic Physical Demands and Work Environment

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts.

• Regularly required to stand for extended periods, walk, talk, and hear.
• Ability to use hand tools.
• Ability to read applicable instructions.
