Job summary

THUNDERBIRD LLC is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain metal production equipment at our New Albany, MS facility. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, reliability, and safe operations within a manufacturing environment.

You will work with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and motor drives, reading prints and collaborating with teams to ensure equipment uptime and performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance mechanic or similar role.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, plumbing and code books.
• Basic mechanical, welding and cutting skills.
• Able to read mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints.
• Good problem-solving, safety practices, and attention to quality.
• Basic workbench and computer skills.
• Knowledge of relay logic, AC/DC motor drives, PLC & SLC, and motor control circuits.
• Intermediate knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, plumbing, and code books.
• Repair knowledge of pumps, compressors, gear boxes and blowers.

Maintenance Mechanic Overview

The Maintenance Mechanics will need an advanced understanding of both mechanical and electrical industrial manufacturing maintenance. This role involves diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues, conducting preventive maintenance, and supporting the overall reliability of metal production equipment.

Maintenance Mechanic Essential Functions

• Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.

Maintenance Mechanic Physical Demands and Work Environment

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• Frequently required lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds.
• Frequently required standing, bending, squatting, and reaching with hands and arms.
• Regularly required to stand for extended periods, walk, talk, and hear.
• Ability to use hand tools.
• Ability to read applicable instructions.
