Job summary

LGM Pharma seeks a Maintenance Mechanic II to uphold and troubleshoot production equipment, ensuring reliability and adherence to cGMP standards. You will perform setup, preventive maintenance, and repairs with minimal supervision in a regulated pharma environment.

Ideal candidates have strong pneumatics/hydraulics knowledge, experience with conveyors and filling machines, and the ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred.
• 2+ years of relevant experience or 5+ years equivalent combination.
• Strong knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Experience in SOP-driven environments (manufacturing, facilities, maintenance).
• Pharma equipment and regulated manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist manufacturing and packaging with machine setup as needed.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimize downtime.
• Ensure repairs/modifications are documented per cGMP and SOP.
• Disassemble, clean, lubricate, and reassemble mechanical equipment.
• Perform electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical evaluations as required.

Salary Range: $22.40 To $24.00 Annually

SUMMARY:

Maintenance Mechanic II performs within a technical role responsible for the general upkeep, repairs, and troubleshooting of equipment. Must have good diagnostic and troubleshooting skills and understand the use of specialized equipment. Requires minimal supervision.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist manufacturing and packaging department performing machine setup, when required.
• Perform troubleshooting and repairs to corresponding equipment.
• Ensure that all repairs and modifications are performed correctly, documented, and notified in compliance with cGMP and SOP.
• Disassemble, clean, lubricate, repair, replace, and assemble mechanical equipment as required to meet production schedule.
• Execute equipment, machine repairs , and preventive maintenance through the use of various repair methods using hand tools .
• Perform electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical evaluations.
• Interpret diagrams (schematics, drawings, etc.) to troubleshoot and repair as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and sanitary work environment.
• Accurately communicate issues and activities to Maintenance Management.
• Support continuous improvement and operational excellence (OE) by recommending and implementing, as needed, improvements to procedures, equipment, operations, and maintenance requirements.
• Request spare parts and notify equipment deficiencies.
• Time management skills and ability to work independently.
• Escort service contractor to ensure company procedures arebeing adhered to.
• Other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in a technical field preferred
• 2+ years of relevant experience or 5+ years of equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical, and electrical systems through education and/or experience
• Previous experience in SOP-driven environments such as manufacturing, facilities, or maintenance
• Proven maintenance mechanic experience in pharmaceutical equipment and regulated manufacturing processes
• Familiarity with support equipment such as HVAC systems and air compressors
• Proficient in operating shop equipment including grinders, drill presses, power tools, calipers, and electrical instruments
• Experience with manufacturing and packaging equipment (conveyors, pumps, mixers, cartoners, filling machines, etc.) preferred
• Ability to perform minor facility maintenance and repairs (plumbing, lighting, etc.)
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and diagrams
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including routine reporting
• Ability to work with minimal supervision under established procedures and training
• Ability to solve practical and occasional complex mechanical problems
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks (standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, pushing/pulling)
• Ability to work in varying environmental conditions including heat, cold, and humidity
• Required to wear assigned PPE equipment as needed.
