QuestSpecialty Corporation in Brenham, TX is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to keep our manufacturing equipment running smoothly and safely. You will perform routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and repair complex systems such as pumps, boilers, and conveyors, collaborating with production teams to minimize downtime.

This hands-on role requires diagnosing failures quickly, following lockout/tagout procedures, and maintaining accurate maintenance records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift and climb ladders.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing settings.
• Basic welding or fabrication skills preferred.

Responsabilités

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery such as the gas house, water bath, and conveyor systems as well as other mechanical equipment to ensure reliable operation.
• Diagnose mechanical failures and execute timely repairs to minimize production downtime.
• Operate forklifts safely to move equipment and parts as needed within the facility.
• Climb ladders and access elevated areas to inspect and service mechanical systems.
• Follow proper lock out tag out procedures.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and report any safety hazards or equipment issues to management.
• Work overtime as required to support urgent maintenance needs and production schedules.
• Collaborate with other maintenance and production personnel to coordinate repairs and maintenance activities.
• Complete monthly and annual inspections as assigned.
• Any other duties or special projects that may be assigned by the supervisor.

About the Role:

The Maintenance Mechanic plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment and systems. This position is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and repairing complex machinery such as pumps, boilers, and conveyor systems. The Maintenance Mechanic will work closely with production teams to minimize downtime and maintain safety standards across the facility. This role requires a hands‑on approach to diagnosing mechanical failures and implementing effective solutions promptly. Ultimately, the Maintenance Mechanic contributes to the overall productivity and safety of the manufacturing environment by maintaining all mechanical systems in optimal working condition.

Required Education and Experience

Physical Requirement

Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and reach as needed to perform maintenance duties. Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull tools, equipment, and materials as required, and safely operate hand and power tools.
