Job summary

Avery Point by Erickson Senior Living is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic II to perform routine and emergency repairs across our campus in Short Pump, VA. The role focuses on keeping residential apartments and public areas in excellent condition to support resident wellbeing.

The position requires hands-on maintenance experience, HVAC and EPA certification, and strong communication with residents. On-site benefits include health plans, 401k, meals, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a residential apartment complex, commercial building construction or maintenance.
• Working knowledge of residential building maintenance including plumbing, electrical, flooring and appliances.
• Must have working knowledge of HVAC.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with residents and staff.
• Must possess current EPA certification to handle refrigerants.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency repairs in residential apartments and public areas including electrical, plumbing, doors and locks.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on designated equipment.
• Respond to emergency calls for system and equipment failure.
• Assist in maintaining adequate material and supplies for assigned neighborhood.

2 openings. Compensation: $25/hr - $26/hr, based on experience.

No Travel required, on site only.

How you will make an impact

• Perform routine and emergency repairs in residential apartments and public areas including correcting electrical malfunctions, repairing and replacing plumbing fixtures, pipes and fittings, repairing and replacing light bulbs and fixtures, repairing doors and locks
• Perform all necessary scheduled preventive maintenance procedures on designated equipment
• Respond to emergency calls for system and equipment failure.
• Assist in maintaining proper levels of material/supplies for neighborhood assigned to ensure the timely and efficient completion of necessary tasks.

What you will need

• Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in a residential apartment complex, commercial building construction or maintenance
• Must possess a working knowledge of residential building maintenance to include, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, flooring and appliances
• Must have working knowledge of HVAC
• Must be able to effectively communicate with residents and staff
• Must possess current EPA certification to handle refrigerants
• Capacity to lift 50 pounds, over 50 pounds- must use the aid of a hand truck or get assistance and move light furniture
• Ability to be on one's feet for a long period of time, bending and extensive walking; ability to push and pull, climb and descend a ladder to 6/8 feet or higher
• Valid driver’s license is required if operating Community vehicles
