Job summary

Avery Point by Erickson Senior Living in Short Pump, Virginia is hiring a Housekeeper. The role involves cleaning resident rooms and common areas within our retirement community, with no travel required. The position offers full-time hours, benefits, and a shift from 9:30am to 6:00pm.

Experience in residential cleaning is preferred. You will operate carpet and floor care equipment and housekeeping vehicles, delivering professional service to residents and staff in a supportive community.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in residential or senior-care cleaning is preferred.
• Ability to safely operate carpet and hard-floor care equipment.
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to safely operate housekeeping vehicles.
• Professional, respectful interaction with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning resident's homes in Independent Living or Resident Rooms in Nursing Home
• Maintaining cleanliness of the Community through the use of specialized equipment.
• Cleaning public bathrooms, including counters, mirrors, sinks, lavatories, fixtures
• Cleaning lobbies/living rooms including vacuuming, high and low dusting, de-cluttering, and removing trash, spot clean walls/windows/switches, baseboards, pictures, lights, HVAC vents.
• Cleaning classrooms, including dusting, vacuuming, white/chalkboards, tables/chairs
• Assisting with the collection, bagging, and disposal of trash, as well as replacing trashcan liners
• Maintaining carpeted surfaces, including extracting, interim cleaning, spotting, drying, and vacuuming.

Location: Avery Point by Erickson Senior Living

Compensation: $17/hr - $17.50/hr, based on experience.

Shift: 9:30am - 6:00pm

What you will need

• Previous experience cleaning in a residential or commercial setting is ideal
• Ability to safely operate carpet care equipment, hard floor care equipment, trash removal equipment
• Ability to work independently and as a contributing team member
• Ability to safely operate Housekeeping vehicles
• Ability to demonstrate professional and responsive interactions with residents and their family members, staff, vendors, and each other
