Avery Point by Erickson Senior Living in Short Pump, Virginia, seeks a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain resident homes and shared spaces in a gated retirement community. The role offers a 9:30am–6:00pm schedule, full-time hours, and comprehensive benefits.

All residents reside within the community, with no travel required. Responsibilities include cleaning Independent Living and Nursing Home areas, operating carpet and floor care equipment, and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for

Qualifications

• Previous experience cleaning in residential or commercial settings preferred.
• Ability to safely operate carpet and hard floor care equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to safely operate housekeeping vehicles.
• Ability to interact professionally with residents, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Clean resident homes in Independent Living or Nursing Home rooms.
• Maintain cleanliness of the community with specialized equipment.
• Clean public bathrooms, counters, mirrors, sinks and fixtures.
• Vacuum lobbies and living rooms; dust surfaces; remove trash; wipe walls and switches.
• Clean classrooms; dust, vacuum, wipe boards and furniture.
• Assist with trash collection, bagging and disposal; replace liners.
• Maintain carpeted surfaces; perform extraction, interim cleaning and drying.

Compensation: $17/hr - $17.50/hr, based on experience.

Shift: 9:30am - 6:00pm

How you will make an impact

• Cleaning resident’s homes in Independent Living or Resident Rooms in Nursing Home
• Maintaining cleanliness of the Community through the use of specialized equipment.
• Cleaning public bathrooms, including counters, mirrors, sinks, lavatories, fixtures
• Cleaning lobbies/living rooms including vacuuming, high and low dusting, de-cluttering, and removing trash, spot clean walls/windows/switches, baseboards, pictures, lights, HVAC vents.
• Cleaning classrooms, including dusting, vacuuming, white/chalkboards, tables/chairs
• Assisting with the collection, bagging, and disposal of trash, as well as replacing trashcan liners
• Maintaining carpeted surfaces, including extracting, interim cleaning, spotting, drying, and vacuuming.

What you will need

• Previous experience cleaning in a residential or commercial setting is ideal
• Ability to safely operate carpet care equipment, hard floor care equipment, trash removal equipment
• Ability to work independently and as a contributing team member
• Ability to safely operate Housekeeping vehicles
• Ability to demonstrate professional and responsive interactions with residents and their family members, staff, vendors, and each other
