Job summary

AstraZeneca plc is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I to maintain critical process equipment such as bioreactors, centrifuges, purification skids, purification columns, glasswashers, and autoclaves. You will perform valve and pump rebuilds, motor alignments, and heat exchanger repairs to keep systems running smoothly.

The role requires knowledge of mechanical trades, reading schematics and P&IDs, basic computer skills, and the ability to work in a clean room.

Qualifications

• Level I: 0–3 years in manufacturing or mechanical maintenance.
• Level II: 3–5 years in manufacturing or mechanical maintenance.
• HS diploma, technical school, GED, or military training in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Capable of performing work in the mechanical, pipefitting, or plumbing trades.
• Detail oriented and able to complete required (GxP) documentation.
• Use basic hand tools.
• Read, write, and utilize drawings, mathematics, and formulas.
• Read mechanical schematics and piping diagrams P&IDs.
• Work in a clean room environment.
• Possess basic computer skills.
• Communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
• Lift 50 pounds.
