Job summary

Savannah-Chatham County Public School System seeks a Director of Maintenance Trades to provide strategic and operational leadership for all districtwide skilled trades, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, carpentry, flooring, hardware, and building envelope systems. You will supervise Trade Supervisors and ensure maintenance strategies are executed safely and efficiently across district facilities.

The role reports to the Sr.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or 10+ years of facilities maintenance/trades operations.
• Minimum 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience leading teams and operations.
• Proven experience across multiple trades (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing).

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise Trade Supervisors across multiple disciplines (Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Roofing, Carpentry, Flooring, Hardware).
• Lead maintenance operations including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
• Ensure safety, quality, and compliance with district standards across all trades.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for Trade Supervisors.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of skilled trades personnel.
• Coordinate with Maintenance Operations leadership to align trades work with service priorities.
