Job summary

Washington State University in Pullman, WA is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic 1 to perform semi-skilled maintenance, repair, remodeling, alteration and construction of campus buildings and equipment.

You will handle general maintenance on interior and exterior systems and work with other trades to support new construction and remodeling projects. This is a full-time, permanent position with overtime eligibility and a starting salary within the listed range.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent and two years of general work experience in building and equipment maintenance, construction or repair work; OR equivalent education/experience.
• Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.

Responsibilities

• As a Maintenance Mechanic 1, you perform semi‑skilled work in maintenance, repair, remodeling, alteration, and construction of buildings, facilities, and equipment. You perform general maintenance on both interior and exterior building systems, and you collaborate with other trades and crafts to support new construction and remodeling projects.
