Sonoco Products Company invites applicants for a Maintenance Mechanic position in Memphis, TN (President Island). Starting wage ranges from $37.70 to $45.02 per hour, with 2nd and 3rd shifts and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in an industrial environment or military experience troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting, industrial and motor controls
• Comfortable with lifting up to 50 lbs
• Willing to work overtime
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in an off shift position with rotating shifts including weekends

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain auxiliary equipment as required by production
• Maintain and repair utility and facility-related equipment as directed by the Plant Engineer
• Assist/train other maintenance personnel with repairs, PMs, and rebuilds
• Collaborate with other departments for proactive problem resolutions
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area
• Manage small projects to maintain or upgrade equipment
• Perform all duties in support of Sonoco's quality and safety policies
