Job summary

Lief Labs is seeking a Maintenance Technician I, 1st shift (5am-1:30pm), to help keep our production equipment and facility operations running smoothly in a GMP manufacturing environment in Valencia, CA.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, document work orders in CMMS, and collaborate with Operations, Quality, and Engineering to improve reliability and efficiency. Some overtime and weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Experience with preventative maintenance and break-fix repairs.
• PLC troubleshooting preferred.
• Ability to work 1st shift (5am-1:30pm) with overtime and weekends as needed.

What You’ll Do

Equipment Maintenance & Repair

• Perform preventative maintenance (PM) and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
• Diagnose and repair production equipment during operation and breakdowns
• Ensure optimal performance and reliability of machinery

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Partner with Operations, Quality, and Engineering teams on root cause analysis (5 Whys, incident management, change management)
• Support plant goals in safety, productivity, quality, cost, and customer satisfaction
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and team projects

Maintenance Operations

• Execute planned, corrective, and preventative maintenance activities
• Complete and document work orders in CMMS systems accurately and on time
• Assist with fabrication of machine parts and maintain shop organization (5S)

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all safety policies and procedures
• Promote a safe working environment and ensure proper use of equipment

What You Bring

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience
• Experience with preventative maintenance and break-fix repairs
• PLC troubleshooting (preferred)
• Ability to work 1st shift (5am-1:30pm, overtime and weekends as needed)

Technical Skills

• Working knowledge of electrical (460 VAC 3-phase & 110 VAC), mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment
• Familiarity with hand tools, specialized tools, and CMMS systems
• Basic Microsoft Office skills

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours)

Work Environment

The work will be performed in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), manufacturing environment where products are produced under strict regulatory and quality standards to ensure safety, consistency, and compliance. This environment includes controlled cleanroom facilities, documented processes, and adherence to FDA 21 CFR Part 211 requirements. Employees must follow all GMP procedures, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and participate in quality assurance activities.

The offices are clean, orderly, properly lit and ventilated. Noise levels are considered low to moderate. Field conditions vary. Exposed to various raw materials, including allergens (i.e. milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soy).

Additional Information

The hourly pay rate for this position is $29.20 - $34.00 USD. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to market demands, experience, training, skills, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, wellness benefits, education reimbursement program, and PTO.
