Job summary

Kroger is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Cleveland, TN distribution center. You will maintain and repair equipment, buildings, and fixtures, including lift trucks and dock systems, while upholding safety and corporate policies.

Responsibilities include plumbing, ventilation, racking, roof inspection, hydraulic systems, and battery maintenance. Requires HS/GED and related maintenance experience; training provided for lift equipment.

Qualifications

• Reading safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Present information effectively in one-on-one and small groups.
• Understand math concepts like probability and geometry.
• Apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Solve practical problems with limited standardization.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Move with purpose and urgency.
• Overtime and any shift availability.
• Maintain attention to detail in a distribution center environment.
• Familiarity with distribution center terms and processes.
• Organize and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
• Understand industry/technical terms and processes.
• Pursue ongoing education as needed.
• Operate equipment: hand truck, pallet jack, power lift (train provided).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Limited Maintenance Industrial license.
• HS education or GED with relevant experience in plumbing, blueprint reading, and maintenance; electrical or forklift repair experience.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair plumbing.
• Maintain ventilation system.
• Install, repair and replace racking.
• Maintain shipping/receiving dock equipment.
• Inspect and evaluate roof structure.
• Weld, cut, and repair aluminum and steel structures.
• Repair and maintain hydraulic systems, air compressors, and fire systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on lift trucks.
• Repair other equipment as needed.
• Repair and maintain battery chargers and batteries.
• Maintain tuggers, carts, pallet jacks, sweepers, scrubbers, and fork lift attachments.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
