Description:

Our Maintenance Mechanic supports Mativ's Sustainable & Adhesive Solutions Function. This individual will diagnose equipment problems and plan for necessary repairs including disassembly and reassembly, fabrication and/or rebuilding of parts, rigging, and machine installation. Follows instructions from supervisor and implements emergency and scheduled repairs. Conducts facility and equipment inspections and initiates repairs as necessary.

Performs preventative maintenance on facility and manufacturing equipment with other Maintenance personnel.

The shift schedule is 6am-6pm. This job requires being "on-call" nights and weekends on a rotating basis with other members of the department.

Responsibilities:

1. Installs, maintains, and repairs all mechanical equipment and basic electrical controls necessary to support all production machines and facility functions operating at specified levels.
2. Diagnoses equipment problems and plans for necessary repairs including disassembly and reassembly, fabrication and/or rebuilding of parts, rigging, and machine installation. Follows instructions from supervisor and implements emergency and scheduled repairs. Conducts facility and equipment inspections and initiates repairs as necessary.
3. Performs preventative maintenance on facility and manufacturing equipment with other Maintenance personnel.
4. This job requires being "on call" nights and weekends on a rotating basis with other members of the department.

Qualifications:

Required

• High mechanical aptitude with a focus on metal fabrication, machining, welding, hydraulics/pneumatics.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment.
• Experience with operator controls and interfaces.
• PLC troubleshooting skills.
• Instrument calibration experience.
• Basic electrical aptitude to work with other Maintenance Personnel.

Preferred

• Knowledge of PLC software and ladder logic for troubleshooting and operator interfaces is a plus.
• Owns mechanical and basic electrical tools.

Position Demands:

Conditions are typical of a manufacturing environment, including:

• Variable air temperatures from cold to hot.
• Presence of dust, fumes, and odors.
• Potential hazards including mechanical, electrical, chemical, explosive, and radiation hazards.

Employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including safety shoes, glasses, bump caps, gloves, hearing protection, respirators, and other PPE as needed.

Physical demands include lifting a minimum of 50 pounds, pushing or pulling up to 250 pounds, working 12-hour shifts, performing repetitive tasks, and various physical movements such as reaching, climbing, bending, and standing.
