Description:

Our Maintenance Mechanic supports Mativ's Sustainable & Adhesive Solutions Function. This individual will diagnose equipment problems and plan for necessary repairs including disassembly and reassembly, fabrication and/or rebuilding of parts, rigging, and machine installation. Follows instructions from supervisor and implements emergency and scheduled repairs. Conducts facility and equipment inspections and initiates repairs as necessary.

Performs preventative maintenance on facility and manufacturing equipment with other Maintenance personnel.

The shift schedule is 6pm-6am. This job requires being "on-call" nights and weekends on a rotating basis with other members of the department.

Responsibilities:

1. Installs, maintains, and repairs all mechanical equipment and basic electrical controls necessary to support all production machines and facility functions operating at specified levels.
2. Diagnoses equipment problems and plans for necessary repairs including disassembly and reassembly, fabrication and/or rebuilding of parts, rigging, and machine installation. Follows instructions from supervisor and implements emergency and scheduled repairs. Conducts facility and equipment inspections and initiates repairs as necessary.
3. Performs preventative maintenance on facility and manufacturing equipment with other Maintenance personnel.
4. This job requires being "on call" nights and weekends on a rotating basis with other members of the department.

Qualifications:

Required

• High mechanical aptitude with a focus on metal fabrication, machining, welding, hydraulics/pneumatics.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment.
• Operator controls and interfaces.
• PLC Troubleshooting.
• Instrument Calibration.
• Basic electrical aptitude to work with other Maintenance Personnel.

Preferred

• Knowledge of PLC software and ladder logic for troubleshooting and Operator Interfaces is a plus.
• Own tools (mechanical and basic electrical).

Position Demands

Conditions are typical of a manufacturing environment, including:

• Air temperatures can range from cold to hot.
• Atmosphere may contain dust, fumes, and odors.
• May include hazards such as mechanical, electrical, chemical, explosive, and radiation hazards.

Employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety shoes, glasses, bump caps, gloves, hearing protection, respirator, and other PPE as required.

Physical demands include:

• Lifting a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Pushing or pulling objects up to 250 pounds.
• Working 12-hour shifts.
• Performing repetitive tasks.
• Standing, sitting, walking, reaching, climbing, bending, kneeling, crouching, twisting, and balancing in sometimes awkward spaces.
• Good vision, depth perception, and focus ability.
