Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System in Gainesville, GA is seeking a full-time skilled trades technician to install, repair, replace and inspect plumbing fixtures and related systems. The role requires an associate degree in a technical field and 1–3 years of experience (or equivalent) with strong safety awareness.

You will work with boiler, chiller, generator plants and fire safety systems, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot lighting, receptacles, leaks, and document work orders promptly.

Qualifications

• Proficient in use of all tools and equipment associated with trade.
• Possesses electrical, mechanical and plumbing skills.
• Safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Represents the department as knowledge professional technician. Updates the originator of work requests of all progress up to and including completion of work.
• Understands and operates major components of essential systems, including boiler plant, chiller plant, generator plant, med air and vac pumps, sprinkler system and fire pump, fire alarm, and domestic systems.
• Analyzes and corrects problems related to normal building maintenance situations; troubleshoots and repairs patient room lighting, receptacles, exit lights and ballast replacements; evaluates and repairs leaks.
• Prioritizes work, organizes tools, and prepares materials; sets up work at least one day ahead to ensure prompt start.
• Correctly utilizes appropriate personal protective equipment.
