Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the Gainesville, GA campus. You will install, repair, inspect and maintain plumbing, heating, water and drainage systems, with emphasis on safe, efficient building operation during the 3:00pm-11:30pm shift.

Requires an Associate degree in a technical field and 1 year of experience with an Associates degree (or 3 years without). Strong electrical, mechanical and plumbing skills and a commitment to safety complete the profile.

Qualifications

• Educational Requirements: Associate degree in a technical field of study.
• Minimum Experience: With Associate’s degree: One (1) year of experience required, OR Three (3) years of experience required in lieu of associates degree.

Responsibilities

• Represents the department as a knowledge professional technician, communicates service status to request originator, and documents work and time promptly.
• Operates major building systems including boiler plant, chiller plant, generator plant, med air/vac pumps, sprinkler system, fire pump and fire alarm; maintains hot and cold domestic systems.
• Analyzes problems in building maintenance, troubleshoots and repairs lighting, receptacles, exit lights, ballast replacements; orders parts and fixes plumbing issues.
• Prioritizes work, organizes tools and materials, plans work one day ahead, and follows Plant Operations Priority System to complete tasks.
• Uses appropriate personal protective equipment for tasks.
