The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform general carpentry, minor electrical and plumbing repairs across campus facilities. The role emphasizes planning to minimize disruption to students and staff, with daily coordination with Housing Support and Facilities Services Housing Support staff.

A valid North Carolina Driver’s License is required. The position offers full-time permanent status with a 40-hour work week and a sign-on bonus of $4,081

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
• License: A valid North Carolina Driver’s License or ability to obtain one prior to start date.
• Flexibility: Evening work occasionally, Night work occasionally, On‑call occasionally, Overtime occasionally.

Responsabilités

• Performs general carpentry, minor electrical and general plumbing repairs.
• Plans to ensure minimal impact on students and staff while performing duties.
• Maintains and repairs UNC facilities in support of teaching, research and public service.
