Job summary

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a Facilities Maint Tech - MechTrd to support Transportation & Parking operations in Chapel Hill, NC. This role performs daily inspections, maintains parking facilities and equipment, and responds to adverse weather including snow removal.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid NC driver’s license, and the ability to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair gas-powered cleaning equipment and leaf blowers.
• Ability to troubleshoot electro-mechanical parking equipment (PARCS) and parking meter stations.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and job-specific software.
• Must maintain a valid NC Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily inspections, maintenance and minor repairs in UNC parking facilities.
• Responds to adverse weather including snow removal.
• Maintains parking equipment, lighting systems, power cleaning equipment and pavement markings.
