Job summary

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a Facility Maint Tech - MechTrd to join Transportation & Parking in Chapel Hill, NC. This full-time, permanent role supports campus operations by inspecting, maintaining, and repairing parking facilities and equipment.

The position requires staying prepared for adverse weather, performing lift tasks up to 50 lb (100 lb with assistance), and complying with safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
• Experience in the trade areas related to the assignment may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
• Must be able to lift/move 50 lbs and move 100 lbs with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections, maintenance and minor repairs in UNC parking facilities.
• Respond to adverse weather, including snow removal from parking decks and walkways.
• Maintain parking equipment, lighting systems, power cleaning equipment and pavement markings.
