Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic (Electrical & Encapsulation Equipment)

Location: Torrance

Industry: Vitamin Manufacturing

Pay: $30 - $35/hour (DOE)

Schedule: 6am – 2:30pm

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic with a strong electrical background and experience working with tablet press and encapsulation machines in the vitamin manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment to ensure efficient operations and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on tablet press and encapsulation machines.

• Perform preventive maintenance to ensure optimal machine performance.

• Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled equipment and other automated systems.

• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.

• Calibrate, test, and inspect equipment to maintain compliance with GMP and FDA regulations.

• Assist in the installation, modification, and upgrading of production equipment.

• Work closely with production and quality teams to ensure equipment is operating at peak efficiency.

• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation.

• Ensure all work is performed following safety protocols and industry standards.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a vitamin, pharmaceutical, or food manufacturing environment.

• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills (480V, motor controls, sensors, PLCs, etc.).

• Experience with tablet press machines (Fette, Korsch, Manesty, etc.) and encapsulation machines (Bosch, Capsugel, etc.).

• Knowledge of GMP, FDA, and OSHA regulations.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Welding, fabrication, and general mechanical repair experience is a plus.

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work on ladders or in confined spaces as needed.
