Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the day shift to assist the maintenance department with plant upkeep. Primary duties include repairing equipment, maintaining facilities, using electrical testing tools, and supporting the Station Mechanic and operators.

Requirements include basic math, reading/writing English, ability to pass Prove It Test, and preferably two years of maintenance experience. Strong mechanical aptitude and good communication are essential; weekend availability may

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentages.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Two years’ experience in maintenance preferred.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and ability to analyze and solve problems.
• Experience in operating maintenance power tools.
• Knowledge of electric and mechanical procedures.
• Flexibility to work weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

Maintenance Mechanic- Days

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for assisting the maintenance department with plant maintenance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with the necessary repairs of equipment, property and the building.
• Maintains accurate communication to other mechanic and departments.
• Effectively uses electrical testing equipment.
• Supports Station Mechanic and operator basic functions of machinery and equipment
• Responsible to identify opportunities for improvement and to communicate those to supervisor or lead person.
• Initiates and conducts routine preventative maintenance (PM’s) on equipment by self or with minimal supervision.
• Maintain shop 6s policies and cleanliness.
• Other duties as required.

What You’ll Need

• Demonstrated ability to perform basic math skill including: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentage calculations
• Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English
• Ability to pass Prove It Test
• Two years’ experience in maintenance field preferred
• Have the ability to work with minimal direct supervision
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and abilities in order to analyze, evaluate, and solve mechanical problems
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience in the operation of maintenance power tools
• Knowledge of electric and mechanical procedures
• Flexibility to work weekends as needed
