Job summary

Ricochet Manufacturing Company is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic Apprentice in Philadelphia, PA to support the maintenance and reliability of manufacturing equipment and the facility. This hands‑on development role centers on industrial sewing equipment while providing general mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic support.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, dependable, safety-focused, and eager to learn and progress into a fully skilled maintenance mechanic.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and a strong interest in learning industrial maintenance.
• Experience in manufacturing, mechanical, sewing machines, automotive, electrical, or technical fields is a plus.
• Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools.
• Basic computer skills and ability to follow written instructions.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with troubleshooting, adjustment, repair, and preventative maintenance of sewing machines and production equipment.
• Learn and support maintenance of sewing equipment including various machine types.
• Assist with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and equipment troubleshooting under supervision.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance, lubrication, cleaning, inspections, and adjustments.
• Assist with equipment installation, relocation, setup, and repairs.
• Respond to equipment issues to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance; keep tools and areas organized.

JOB SUMMARY

Ricochet is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic Apprentice to support the maintenance and reliability of our manufacturing equipment and facility. This is a hands‑on development position with a primary focus on industrial sewing equipment, while providing support with general mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and facility maintenance. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, dependable, safety-focused, and eager to learn and develop into a skilled maintenance mechanic.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with troubleshooting, adjustment, repair, and preventative maintenance of industrial sewing machines and production equipment.


• Learn and support maintenance of sewing equipment including single‑needle, overlock, coverstitch, bartack, and specialty machines.


• Assist with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and equipment troubleshooting under the direction of experienced maintenance personnel.


• Perform routine preventative maintenance, lubrication, cleaning, inspections, and adjustments.


• Assist with equipment installation, relocation, setup, and repairs.


• Respond to production equipment issues and help minimize downtime.


• Assist with general facility maintenance and repairs as needed.


• Maintain accurate records of repairs, preventative maintenance, and parts used.


• Keep maintenance tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.


• Follow all safety, OSHA, Lockout/Tagout, GMP, and company requirements.


• Work closely with Production Supervisors and Operators to identify and resolve equipment issues.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED preferred.


• Mechanical aptitude and strong interest in learning industrial maintenance.


• Previous manufacturing, mechanical, sewing machine, automotive, electrical, or technical experience is a plus.


• Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools.


• Basic computer skills and ability to follow written instructions.


• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.


• Dependable attendance and positive attitude.


• Willingness to learn and work as part of a team.


• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred

CAREER DEVELOPMENT

This position is designed to provide a career path toward becoming a Maintenance Mechanic / Industrial Sewing Machine Mechanic. Advancement and pay increases will be based on demonstrated skills, knowledge, performance, and ability to independently troubleshoot and repair equipment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and work around production equipment.


• Ability to lift and move tools, parts, and equipment as required.


• Ability to work safely around machinery, electrical equipment, and manufacturing processes.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Manufacturing floor environment with machinery, noise, and moving equipment. Overtime or off‑shift work may be required.
