About The Role

Sign-on bonus eligible! As a Maintenance Mechanic & Welder, you will perform mechanical, maintenance, and repair work including inspecting and maintaining rotating machinery and equipment. Responsibilities include inspecting and adjusting pumps, replacing or rebuilding pumps, fan bearings, motors, repairing screw conveyors, rebuilding gearboxes, installing/modifying pipelines, and supporting plant projects.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and weld to standard platforms, chutes, and other non-pressure vessel code welding procedures.
• Pressure part welding of carbon steel and stainless steel with qualification in all positions per NBIC code.
• Interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and AWS welding symbols.
• Perform rigging practices, especially in boiler element rigging.
• Participate in teardown and internal inspection of major equipment.
• Read and interpret measuring tools, graphs, and manuals.
• Follow all health and safety regulations, keep work area safe and clean.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ experience in Millwright and Boilermaker roles.
• High School Diploma/GED; technical or apprenticeship training preferred.
• Proficient in blueprints, welding (stick, TIG, MIG), steel and stainless steel welding, and boiler code qualification.
• Skilled in SMAW, GTAW, GMAW welding and portable cutting technologies.
• Knowledge of loads and hoisting equipment.
• Ability to read OSHA procedures, safety rules, hazard analyses, manuals.
• Experience with metal working tools and shop equipment.
• Excellent manual dexterity and ability to work in awkward positions.
• Good communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to work overtime, including nights, weekends, holidays, and support plant maintenance.

Physical Demands

• Walking, standing, sitting, climbing.
• Lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Working at heights and in confined spaces.
• Qualify to wear a full-face respirator.
• Work in various weather conditions.
