Job summary

Turkey Hill is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I for night shifts (11:00pm-7:00am, Tue-Sat) to support our manufacturing operations. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment, read blueprints, and document activities in the CMMS.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to improve processes while upholding GMP and SQF standards. Preferred candidates hold a trade/technical certification.

Qualifications

• Trade or technical certification/diploma preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment.
• Experience reading blueprints and work orders.
• Must work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
• Repair equipment during breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Layout, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and work orders.
• Inspect, operate, or test faulty machinery or equipment.
• Maintain documentation of assignments and parts inventory in CMMS.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements.
• Follow GMP, safety regulations, and SQF requirements.

Hours for this position are 11:00pm-7:00am, Tuesday-Saturday.

The Maintenance Mechanic I makes an impact by –

• Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative and predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to repair equipment during breakdowns.
• Layout, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and work orders.
• Use tools ranging from common hand tools and power tools.
• Inspect, operate, or test faulty machinery or equipment.
• Ability to inspect or test programmable controllers and motors to diagnose machine malfunctions using voltmeters or other troubleshooting tools.
• Maintain accurate documentation of assignments, machine repairs, and parts inventory utilizing the site Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Work effectively with department and cross-functional teams to define and implement process improvements that provide value to the customer.
• Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP), Plant Safety Regulations, Quality Control Standards and plant policies.
• Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the Safe Quality Food (SQF).
• Trade or Technical Certification and/or Diploma is preferred.

• The employee is required to talk and/or hear in a manufacturing setting where noise levels are high (PPE required).
• The employee is required to wear mandated PPE based on assigned job area.
• The employee is frequently required to stand and walk in an manufacturing environment for 8+ hours.
• The employee must be able to ascend and descend stairs, and where applicable and when necessary, to perform various job-related tasks.
• Must be able to position self to move, reach with arms/hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed to perform various job-related tasks.
• The employee must be able to inspect all job-related equipment (office or floor) to ensure it is in good working condition prior to use. Must be able to use hands/fingers to handle (or feel) to operate various types of office equipment.
• Must be able to operate all job-related equipment (powered, hand or office) as required.
• Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and adjust focus.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and/or push/pull 50 pounds on a regular basis.
