Job summary

Turkey Hill is hiring a Packaging Associate to support our ice cream and beverage production. You will load cups and lids, verify ingredients, inspect packaging quality, and work with the team to ensure smooth production lines.

The role emphasizes adherence to GMP, safety guidelines, and company food safety principles. Expect rotation, physical tasks, and opportunities for growth within a nationwide company.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Follow schedule: starting, ending, lunch and break times.

Responsibilities

• Feed correctly identified cups and lids into the filler and unscrambler.
• Ensure all ingredients are added to package prior to first sellable package and during production.
• Check container appearance for proper lid fit, fill, and cleanliness before wrapping.
• Ensure machine setup is correct, including code date before startup for each flavor.
• Collaborate with Freezer Operator for efficient changeovers.
• Perform Clean In Place (CIP) and Clean Out of Place (COP) per SOPs and checklists.
• Maintain high safety standards for people, equipment, and facilities.

Hours for this position are rotating 12s, 5:55am to 6:00pm.

The Ice Cream Packaging Associate makes an impact by –

• Feed correctly identified cups and lids into the filler and unscrambler.
• Ensure that all ingredients have been added to package prior to first sellable package and by continuous visual examination thereafter.
• Check the appearance of containers and products to ensure proper lid fit, proper fill and clean package prior to wrapping, if necessary.
• Ensure machine setup is correct including correct code date before startup for each flavor and during the production run.
• Work with Freezer Operator to ensure efficient changeovers.
• Responsible for proper Clean In Place (CIP) and Clean Out of Place (COP) as required using SOPs and checklists.
• Maintain a high level of safety towards people, equipment, and building structures.

Physical Demands -

• The employee is required to talk and/or hear in a manufacturing setting where noise levels are high (PPE required).
• The employee is required to wear mandated PPE based on assigned job area.
• The employee is frequently required to stand and walk in an manufacturing environment for 8+ hours.
• The employee must be able to ascend and descend stairs, and where applicable and when necessary, to perform various job-related tasks.
• Must be able to position self to move, reach with arms/hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed to perform various job-related tasks.
• The employee must be able to inspect all job-related equipment (office or floor) to ensure it is in good working condition prior to use. Must be able to use hands/fingers to handle (or feel) to operate various types of office equipment.
• Must be able to operate all job-related equipment (powered, hand or office) as required.
• Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and adjust focus.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and/or push/pull 50 pounds on a regular basis.
