Job summary

Turkey Hill in Searcy, AR is seeking a Sanitation Operator to maintain cleanliness in the production area. The role includes disassembly, sanitation, and reassembly of equipment used in ice cream production, monitoring CIP/COP outputs, and ensuring compliance with GMP standards.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, sanitize and reassemble equipment used in ice cream production.
• Monitor CIP and COP unit outputs; adjust chemical concentrations, heat and flow for cleansing specs.
• Clean production environment and surrounding areas; maintain sanitation records.
• Collaborate with machine operators to ensure proper cleaning and food-safe conditions.
• Read chemical labels and MSDS to understand usage and safety.
• Perform cleaning verification via visual, chemical and ATP swabbing.
• Maintain quality system integrity and participate in team improvements.

Hours for this position are 12:00pm-10:30pm.

The Sanitation Operator makes an impact by -

• Disassemble clean, sanitize and assemble all equipment associated with the manufacture of mixes and ice cream products in accordance to all applicable SSOPs related to sanitary condition, cleanliness, and equipment condition.
• Monitor CIP and COP Unit outputs and make required adjustments to chemical concentrations, heat and flow rates to maintain cleaning specifications.
• Responsible for cleaning the production environment and peripheral areas.
• Works closely with machine operators to evaluate proper cleaning and food safe conditions of equipment.
• Maintain activities consistent with the Sanitation Manual and sanitation procedures as a part of the overall quality system.
• Perform cleaning verification as require through visual, chemical and ATP swabbing as a part of the sanitation process.
• Tasks include housekeeping, general sanitation and product quality assessment responsibilities throughout the sanitation process.
• Read labels on chemicals and cleaning agents to understand their use.
• Understand MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) to learn about chemicals used including first aid and safety.
• Ensure department records are complete and accurate.
• Maintain the integrity of the quality system.
• Perform preventive maintenance as assigned.
• Exhibit continuity to the site supporting corporate and local management policies.
• Keep management informed of developments as they occur.
• Be engaged in the day-to-day running of the business by performing tasks beyond normal/baseline job responsibilities, participating in team or business improvement meetings and initiatives positioned toward improving business results.

• The employee is required to wear mandated PPE based on assigned job area.
• The employee is frequently required to stand and walk in an manufacturing environment for 8+ hours.
• The employee must be able to ascend and descend stairs, and where applicable and when necessary, to perform various job-related tasks.
• Must be able to position self to move, reach with arms/hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed to perform various job-related tasks.
• The employee must be able to inspect all job-related equipment (office or floor) to ensure it is in good working condition prior to use. Must be able to use hands/fingers to handle (or feel) to operate various types of office equipment.
• Must be able to operate all job-related equipment (powered, hand or office) as required.
• Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and adjust focus.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and/or push/pull 50 pounds on a regular basis.
