Job summary

Randstad USA in Memphis, TN seeks an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic II to join the plant reliability team. The role emphasizes mechanical troubleshooting, preventive/predictive maintenance, and optimizing equipment across automated production and high-speed packaging lines.

Basic electrical familiarity is required; no advanced electrical work or PLC programming. Shift is 2nd, 1 PM–9 PM, with a high school diploma as a minimum education.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance or equivalent field.
• Experience level: Experienced.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical Reliability & Troubleshooting: Diagnose, disassemble, rebuild, and adjust high-speed processing and packaging machinery, including conveyor belts, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, drives, and pumps.
• Pneumatic & Hydraulic Systems: Inspect, troubleshoot, and rebuild pneumatic cylinders, air lines, solenoid valves, manifolds, regulators, and hydraulic drive circuits.
• Preventive & Autonomous Maintenance (PM/AM): Execute scheduled preventive maintenance work orders, precision lubrication routes, belt tensioning, and mechanical alignments to eliminate unplanned downtime.
• Fabrication & Minor Welding: Perform minor shop fabrication, bracket modifications, torch cutting, and light welding (MIG/TIG or stick) to repair or customize guards, guides, and mounting fixtures.
• Line Support & Changeovers: Partner with operations teams to support SMED / rapid changeovers, guide adjustments, and startup checks to keep lines running at target efficiency.
• Documentation & Safety: Log repairs, parts used, and equipment histories accurately into CMMS; adhere to OSHA, LOTO, and GMP standards.

In this role, you will be primarily responsible for mechanical troubleshooting, preventive/predictive maintenance, and equipment optimization across automated production, conveying, and high-speed packaging lines.

Note on Electrical Requirements: This is a mechanically focused role.Candidates only need basic electrical familiarity (e.g., Lockout/Tagout, unplugging/swapping like-for-like quick-disconnect sensors, or basic fuse checks); no advanced electrical troubleshooting, wiring, or PLC programming is required.

salary: $65,333 - $76,960 per year
